Autumn Glory IBA Exhibition

Iceni Botanical Artists are pleased to be returning to The Guildhall, Bury St. Edmunds, with an exhibition of flower paintings entitled “Autumn Glory”.The airy Banqueting Hall is blessed with excellent natural light, and is elegantly suited to a display of botanical art.
This style of painting has a long history, becoming well established in early Greek and Roman times as necessary for plant identification. Since then it has evolved into a wide range of floral art from impressionistic and free form to accurate illustrations, still in demand for scientific publications.
Iceni Botanical Artists’ highly talented membership include several nationally distinguished, award winning artists in this field , and their styles vary from classical, botanically accurate plant portraits to broader interpretations of botanical forms and landscapes.
Watercolour is the main choice of medium, although oil, acrylic, graphite and ink are also featured.
