
BOTANICAL ART TECHNIQUES IN WATERCOLOUR

This workshop will be led by Rosemary Dodgson and will focus on the use of watercolour to layer paint to produce realistic surfaces, adding depth of colour and 3 dimensional effects.
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners or for those with some experience who wish to develop their skills. All materials will be provided, or if you may bring your own if you prefer. The tuition will be through demonstrations of various techniques together with individual support offered for with your work. A range of subject matter will be provided for you to choose from.
The workshop will run from 10 am until 4.00 pm with a break for lunch. You will need to either bring your own lunch or visit one of the local cafes. Tea and coffee available through the day.

ILLUSTRATING CACTI AND SUCCULENTS IN COLOUR PENCIL AND GRAPHITE

On this day course you will work from life studying a variety of different cacti and succulents to realistically illustrate their textures and colour using coloured pencils and graphite. The textures will include spikes and hairs on cacti as well as shine and bloom on succulents. You will learn how to colour match, blend and layer colours, create highlights and emboss paper to show intricate details. All materials will be provided, ( some with a small charge) but you are welcome to bring your own materials if you have them. The outcome of the workshop will be a study sheet of cacti and succulents.

This course is run by Vicky Hallam IBA member and is suitable for all levels. Examples of Vicky’s work can be seen on; www.vickyhallamdesigns.com.
